Interesting Topic

Well, I had an interesting conversation with my ex...He has bred miss, and has offered for me to have one or two...I loved them when i was there, and don't know if I want pets again. However, I think it would add something to the house...if not the smell of cat litter.

Poem from Christopher Rice

I read this in a book by Christopher Rice...I thought it was beautiful."What fires burn the heart,From which God did these agonies start? Our cobwebs stung from death to deathAre to thin. Our lies greatest sin.I will hold you, child not yet born, And tell you not to forget,But not to know. You will soon be dense with memoryAnd the memory dense with souls. What fires burn the heart? From which God did these agonies start?I hold you, child not yet born.Yet I am not your god.Ask me not to stop the pain. The lies I'll offerYou need not gain.I cannot tell you how or why.I can only teach you That this world calls for you to cry."B

Some people...the rediculous teachings of Falwell and Robertson

I pulled this from one of the services that I subscribe to...I thought it was quite interesting."Our country is struggling to cope with the monumental horror of Sept. 11, 2001. We are grieving those lost and consoling those who have lost much. Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans were among those killed and among those working to save lives. Like all Americans, we are coming together in the spirit of community to face the unimaginable challenges ahead. Sadly, one of those challenges includes confronting the dark prejudices that continue to haunt our daily existence. The words of Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson yesterday were stunning. They were beyond contempt. They were irresponsible at best, and a deliberate attempt to manipulate the nation?s anger at worst. Falwell?s subsequent attempt at apology fell woefully short. The words of these men are similar to the acts of equally contemptible retribution that are being waged against people of Middle Eastern origin or appearance in some areas of our country. This is not a time for scapegoating, it is a time for unity. To blame blindly, based on prejudice and rage, represents an ominous part of our world and we must work to overcome it wherever we find it. It should be soundly condemned by all of us as we struggle to focus our attentions on healing the pain of our nation.Partial transcript of comments from the Thursday, September 13, 2001 edition of the "700 Club"JERRY FALWELL: And I agree totally with you that the Lord has protected us so wonderfully these 225 years. And since 1812, this is the first time that we've been attacked on our soil and by far the worst results. And I fear, as Donald Rumsfeld, the Secretary of Defense, said yesterday, that this is only the beginning. And with biological warfare available to these monsters - the Husseins, the Bin Ladens, the Arafats - what we saw on Tuesday, as terrible as it is, could be miniscule if, in fact - if, in fact - God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve. PAT ROBERTSON: Jerry, that's my feeling. I think we've just seen the antechamber to terror. We haven't even begun to see what they can do to the major population. JERRY FALWELL: The ACLU's got to take a lot of blame for this. PAT ROBERTSON: Well, yes. JERRY FALWELL: And, I know that I'll hear from them for this. But, throwing God out successfully with the help of the federal court system, throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools. The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way - all of them who have tried to secularize America - I point the finger in their face and say "you helped this happen." PAT ROBERTSON: Well, I totally concur, and the problem is we have adopted that agenda at the highest levels of our government. And so we're responsible as a free society for what the top people do. And, the top people, of course, is the court system. JERRY FALWELL: Pat, did you notice yesterday the ACLU, and all the Christ-haters, People For the American Way, NOW, etc. were totally disregarded by the Democrats and the Republicans in both houses of Congress as they went out on the steps and called out on to God in prayer and sang "God Bless America" and said "let the ACLU be hanged"? In other words, when the nation is on its knees, the only normal and natural and spiritual thing to do is what we ought to be doing all the time - calling upon God. PAT ROBERTSON: Amen"Who ever said that the ACLU were anti-anything. As far as I know, ACLU is the American Civil Liberties Union, who fight for the rights of every citizen in the United States...I believe in my teachings of Christianity that Christians were not supposed to judge, that there was only one "person" that could judge...

Where to start...

It is a boring day in Augusta Georgia. I am out of work on short term disability after being taken to the emergency room on Monday. I hate lying in bed and "taking it easy", so I have been gardening and cleaning...tomorrow will be painting and cleaning. I know it sounds stupid, but it is not like I am disobeying doctor's orders. Michael took me in Monday after a week of not being able to eat without having "stomach explosions". I was weak and tired, and the last thing I wanted to do was eat...so it was time. I did not go without a fight though, I hate hospitals and their lack of true care. (Thank God I am dating a Doc. who can take care of most things without having to face one of my biggest fears). Anyway, they gave me some medication that knocks me out for hours at a time...so therefore no work for the next couple of days. Thursday and Friday are holidays for me, so I think that I am going to rest up for the weekend. Things between me and Michael are going good, I am still planning on selling my house in Aiken. We are going to talk about what I am going to do after that, I love Michael's house, but I don't think I could call it home. Who knows...that is a long way off.My cousin and I are talking about having something for my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary...but my ideas are limited. That is going to have to take a lot of planning considering it is around Christmas time. It is hard to imagine 60 years...I mean Mike and I have been together for over 2 months, but that is nothing compared to 60 years. I guess you have to start somewhere. Anyway, I think it is time to be medicated again, so I am off for now. Who knows when I will get a chance again.Rudy
